Check out the 2008 Smart Fortwo if you’re into progressive European trends. This is a hot little thing, just starting to pop up here and there in the States. It’s really ideal for town and neighborhood driving, because its acceleration is so poor and its handling at high speed is kind of iffy.

The Fortwo has a tiny, 1.0 liter three-cylinder engine that’ll get about 70 horsepower. It takes 13 seconds to get from 0 to 60, which is pretty silly, but it’s better than those East German cars in the 70s that had an engine the size of a pencil sharpener. We’re getting a look at the 2008 Toyota Camry Solara. This is a sporty, two-door ride that’s available either as a regular coupe or as a cloth-top convertible. Though the outside looks a little dated, the inside gets thumbs up from reviewers across the board.

We’re checking out the 2008 BMW M3, and we’re acknowledging it as one of our favorite two-door coupes for the whole year. It’s just such a well-rounded package, with excellent guts, a great design, and a look and feel that’s almost unmatchable.

We’ve gotten a look at performance reports on the Toyota Tundra TRD, and we’re just as impressed as we thought we would be. The company specs on the truck were great, and the real-world performance measures up.

We’ve been anxious to get a look at the 2009 Nissan Maxima because of its design overhaul. Fans of the Maxima can count on lots of clout in the aesthetic subtleties department.

The 2009 Maxima is a little shorter than previous models, but also a little wider; consequently, the sporty beast looks more than ever like it’s crouched and ready to go. We’ve taken our time getting around to the 2008 Saab 9-3, but we’re glad we get a chance to look at it. This car is a thoughtful, sporty roadster in a package that looks better or worse depending on what mood we’re in.
