Audi’s A8 will soon be arriving at the UK showroom floors in spring 2010. And along with that is a tag price starting at £54,760 up to £66,240.

The UK-Audi A8 will be sold with a selection of upgraded engines. The 3.0 TDI gets 250PS (184kW) and 550Nm of torque, the 4.2 V8 TDI works with 350PS (257kW) and 800Nm, while the 4.2 V8 FSI sees its power/ torque hiked from 350PS/ 440Nm to 372PS (274kW) and 445Nm. A new “baseline” 3.0 TDI with 204PS (150kW) and 159g/km is to be added later in 2010.

On fuel economy, the 3.0 TDI averages 42.8mpg with CO2 emissions of 174g/km. On the other hand, the 4.2 V8 TDI is improved to 37.2mpg with CO2 emissions of 199g/km and the petrol 4.2 V8 FSI sees a 13% improvement to 29.7mpg and CO2 gases of 219g/km.

The A8 also comes with the usual array of safety features such as the airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, ESP and Adaptive Cruise Control with a four-stage pre-sense safety system. Audi also included an MMI GPRS module, with the help of Google, which permits the owners to download detailed routes into the cars before driving off.
