Chevrolet has now released more images of its latest Z06-based, limited-edition Corvette. The 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition is a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the model’s first appearance at Le Mans.

Besides the carbon ceramic brakes also from the Corvette ZR1, the Carbon Limited Edition also comes with unique dark gray metallic calipers. Those brakes will help stop a special set of black alloy wheels clad in Michelin PS2 tires. The Carbon Limited Edition will also include the Corvette’s Magnetic Selective Ride Control, marking the first time that the adjustable suspension package will be available on the Z06.

Chevrolet launches the 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon limited edition. The new car is designed to further incorporate technology developed through racing, while also celebrating the 50th anniversary of Corvette’s first race in the 24 Hours of LeMans.

The vehicle features Brembo carbon ceramic brakes (from the Corvette ZR1), 19-inch front and 20-inch back black 20-spoke wheels, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, an improved cooling system, and a faux carbon fiber engine cover.

A limited edition of the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be auctioned out for the benefit of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The car, which is a part of the 427 special edition lineup, will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction this weekend.

Haiti has been hit with a 7.0 magnitude quake in the wee hours of the 12th of January. As many as 200,000 people were killed in the disaster, with much of the area’s buildings and infrastructures destroyed. At least thirty-three aftershocks were also felt after the earthquake.

Each of the 427 units in the edition features a 7.0-liter V8 engine producing 505 horsepower.  Units…
