
Michigan will be the hatching ground of the Fiat’s 1.4L Multiair engine. The production will start in the fourth quarter of 2010 at Chrysler’s Dundee,Michigan factory which will be funded with $179 million. The preparation of the plant will provide 155 new jobs and a total of 573 for the entire project. One hundred thousand engines, the annual target of the plant, will be fitted to the Mexican-built Fiat 500 units. The Fiats will then be divided between the Latin America market and other selected Chrysler US showrooms.
