For the last couple of months the fate of the Hummer brand was hanging in the balance, but now it looks like the iconic off road vehicle is back and is starting to get back in the game. According to reports production of the company’s H3 and H3T models is slated to resume next month.

As we all know, Hummer is now owned by China’s Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company. According to company production of its 2010 H3 and H3T models for the U.S. market next month. We have all heard about the possibility of GM selling Hummer to a Chinese company. Now Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corporation, which is negotiating with GM regarding the purchase of the Hummer brand, could locate its headquarters in the Detroit area, according to Hummer’s spokesman.

According to Nick Richards of Hummer the Chinese company would look into employing 100 people in a Detroit Headquarters and increasing the number up to 300 employees.

The Detroit headquarters would operate much like other automaker, but in a much reduced capacity. Design, engineering, product planning, marketing and finance would all be handled in the company’s main headquarters. It is still unknown how many Hummer employees…

Despite the recent bankruptcy issues that General Motors faces, the new owner of Hummer is very optimistic about its brand’s future.
