Infiniti’s QX56 SUV debuts at the New York Auto Show. This Nissan Patrol-based SUV is set to compete with Lexus’ LX 570 and the Range Rover.

Infiniti will introduce their first diesel engine in its Infiniti EX, Infiniti FX, and Infiniti M line. All the models will be available only for European markets for now.

Named the V9X, the 3.0-liter turbocharged common rail engine produces 235 horsepower (175 kW / 238 PS) and up to 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. The aluminum four-cylinder mill commands the Infiniti EX30d to a hundred kilometers per hour in 7.9 seconds. The FX30d meanwhile can sprints to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

Infiniti has already released the pricing details for its 2011 M sedan ahead of the vehicle’s scheduled start of sales on March 18.

The six-cylinder M37 will start at $46,250, while adding all-wheel-drive will cost an additional $2150. The range topping V8 M56 starts at $57,550 for a rear-wheel-drive version or $60,050 for the all-wheel-drive. According to Infiniti, they will begin marketing the car during the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament.

The LA Auto Show will be the venue for not just one Infiniti unveiling, but two Infinitis.

Alongside the 2011 Infiniti M comes also the 2010 Infiniti G37 Sedan. Both Infinitis will be on display for two weeks at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The 2010 Infiniti G37 was given more angular and bulbous front headlights. The grille has also been adjusted and a new fog lamp was also integrated. The new 17-inch wheel design, which comes as standard, will absolutely catch anyone’s eye. But the reworked rear bumper may need a second look before you notice any differences.

When it comes to being green, Lexus has already established itself as one of the greenest luxury automakers on the planet. Lexus has a wide selection of hybrid models you can choose from, including the recently launched hybrid-only HS 250h.

But Japanese luxury car maker Infiniti is looking to take a shot at being the greenest car maker in the coming years. Nissan have just confirmed that it has one electric car planned for the Infiniti brand.
