New sketches of the forthcoming 2011 Magentis four-door coupe have been released. The 2011 Magentis, which bears the US moniker Optima, is set to be officially unveiled at the 2010 New York Auto Show.

The current flagship sedan for the Korean automaker, the Kia Optima, is fairly tame. That is why Kia is replacing its sedan with a much sportier silhouette. The 2011 Kia Optima will then be labeled as a four-door coupe rather than a sedan.

The Optima will also be using the same engines as the 2011 Sonata and will also be offered in four and six-cylinder versions. The four-cylinder version will be a 2.4 liter that can put out…

Kia has been discovered to have been working on an all-new, larger and more luxurious sedan. The images that swarmed the internet late last year of the said car are believed to be from a Kia meeting.

The vehicle, which has been tentatively named as K9, will be carrying the same chassis that the Hyundai Genesis sedan has. Powertrain for the K9 is still considering the one the Genesis sedan also has. But a new 4.0 liter V8 rated near 400 horsepower is still not out of the question. Hyundai’s new eight-speed transmission will also make its way into the K9.

The K9 will likely replace the outgoing Amanti in Kia’s lineup.…

Kia has announced that its Borrego model will not be having a new model for this year in the markets other than Korea.

The sad news may be rooted to its late 2008 introduction—which coincided with the $4 gas and the general collapse of the auto industry. Kia targeted 20,000 US sales for the Borrego, but due to the circumstantial events, only about half of that number was obtained.

The Borrego however fared well in its home market, marketed under the Mohave nameplate. As such, Kia will likely come out with a 2010 Borrego model solely for the Korean market.

Kia is still hoping though that the Borrego will only take a short…
