Lotus and Cosworth is coming back at the IndyCar Series with an especially dedicated car for this year.

The technical and commercial partnership, which has KV Racing Technology also included, is expected to be bear fruit on the track. Lotus Racing previously competed in IndyCar in the 1950s and 1960s, concluding with Jim Clark winning the Indianapolis 500 in 1965. That car, from which the new one drew design inspiration, wore classic Racing Green and Yellow livery. Former Formula One driver Takuma Sato will be piloting the new vehicle this time around.

Naomi Campbell Helps Lotus Raise Money For Haiti

Lotus announced at the Geneva Motor Show that all eight special edition ‘Naomi for Haiti’ Evoras have raised over 1.4 million Euros at auction.

As part of collaboration with Naomi Campbell and the White Ribbon Alliance’s Fashion for Relief campaign, Lotus has designed and donated eight bespoke charity cars to help raise funds for Haiti which was struck with an earthquake on 12th of January.

Designed by Donato Coco, with input from supermodel Naomi Campbell, the Evoras were auctioned at the Fashion for Relief charity event. All proceeds will be donated to the White Ribbon Alliance, an organization that will be assisting in rebuilding the healthcare system in Haiti.

Lotus has tapped supermodel Naomi Campbell to help them raise money for the relief efforts in Haiti.

To help the distraught region, Lotus developed eight special edition “Naomi for Haiti” Evoras. Designed by Donato Coco, with input from Campbell, the Evoras feature custom-made styling and special interior trim.

The cars will be auctioned at the Fashion for Relief charity event on February 18th. All proceeds will go to the White Ribbon Alliance, an organization that will be assisting in rebuilding the healthcare system in Haiti.

Prior to the official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month, Lotus has already taken the wraps off its revised 2011 Elise model. The 2011 Lotus Elise will be available in three trim levels worldwide, but only two are expected to be available for the United States market.

The Elise features an updated look with the revised front fascia, complete with the new-looking headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED turn indicators. The 2011 Elise also sports a new rear bumper and engine cover as well as a new wheel design.

Lotus Seeks Jarno Trulli to Help Develop Evora Cup Car

F1 driver Jarno Trulli has been tapped to help create the Lotus Evora Cup race car. The car was fully tested this week at the Snetterton track in Norfolk, England.

The 35-year-old Italian brought engineer Gianluca Pisanello to the Evora Cup project.  The two of them “provided specific input into the aerodynamic balance for slow, medium and fast corners, guidance on the racing setup of the suspension geometry and direction on the engine’s calibration,” according to a press release.

Trulli has been a regular Formula One driver since 1997.  In 190 races, he has claimed a pole position four times, winning one race outright.  That win came at the 2004 Monaco Grand…

Lotus shows off their new model Exige S Type 72. The 935 kg car is built as a limited edition version of the Exige to honor the black-and-gold livery of the Type 72 F1 car. The car has won 20 different Grand Prix events from 1970 to 1975, the Constructors’ Championship in 1970, 1972, and 1973, and Drivers’ World Championships in 1970 and 1972.

Okay, pricing aside, let’s remind you why you fell in love with this exotic sports car.
