Come the 2010 North American International Auto Show next month, and another concept car from will be seen from MINI.

The MINI Beachcomber Concept is all about outdoor fun, as the name suggests. Its influences include the Mini Moke of 1964 which was also a fun young vehicle and strongly hints at the heavily speculated fourth model in the MINI line-up after the hatch, the Clubman and the Convertible.

BMW chairman Dr.Norbert Reithofer announced that a version of the MINI Coupe Concept will be going onto production at MINI’s Oxford plant. Reithofer has also added that a second yet to be revealed MINI will be also going from concept to production.

Reithofer did not specify the second MINI for production, but he did say it will appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show with the Coupe concept. It was earlier leaked that a new MINI roadster will make its appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. So expect the announcement that the roadster will also be coming into production in a couple of days.

People interested in the auto-industry know it well that Germany’s car companies have been struggling to draw near their Asian competitors in electric technology. Thus, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Cabinet drafts a plan that envisions one million electric cars zipping along the nation’s famed autobahns by 2020.

A copy of the plan obtained by the Associated Press says, “The program is aimed at having a positive impact on investment decisions, give producers security and support the sale of electric cars.”

The plan calls for ‘financial incentives’ starting in 2012 to support the sale of electric cars and details on the finances are to be discussed in the next legislature period in the fall.
