Instead of following the trend of the auto-industry which is to better the fuel economy, Peugeot decided to focus on advancing their technology. As part of the many displays at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, Peugeot will exhibit their HYbrid4 system in versions of its 3008 crossover and RCZ sports coupe.

Setting itself apart from the current hybrids, Peugeot’s system uses the diesel engines to power the front wheels and an electric motor to power the rear-wheels. The 2008 Peugeot 908 HY is another strange-looking car that seems to have come straight from the Star Trek movie. This weird-looking auto, which is a hybrid version of the 2008 Peugeot 908 HDi race car, was unveiled during the Silverstone race. Just like the non-hybrid version the 2008 Peugeot 908 HY has a 5.5-Liter turbo-diesel V12 engine producing 700 horsepower but this is coupled with the series-parallel hybrid system.

The 2008 Peugeot 908 HY is hands down a sustainable and environment-friendly auto because the kinetic energy that is lost when the car brakes can be re-obtained, stored as electricity and cab be used to operate the 60-kilowatt electric motor. You can…
