Renault Unveils R30, Welcomes Petrov

Renault had a double celebration last Sunday as it revealed its R30 car and confirmed Vitaly Petrov as the occupant of the second race seat for the 2010 season.

The 25-year old Petrov, also Russia’s first formula one driver, who finished the GP2 championship in second place last year and who reportedly has a big sponsorship purse, helped his new teammate Robert Kubica pull the wraps off the R30 car in the Valencia pitlane.

The single seater is painted all yellow and black, almost identical to the 30th anniversary tribute that was revealed a couple of years ago, but with red wing endplates coloured red in deference to prominent sponsor Total.

One of the biggest automaker in South Korea, Renault Samsung, has just released the first official photos of the third-generation SM5 sedan. By releasing the pictures, the company is hoping that the sales of the new sedan will be big come its start on late January 2010.

The SM5 is based on the current-generation Renault Laguna and comes with Nissan’s 2.0 liter petrol engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Also, will be available is a turbo diesel engine. Advanced features of the SM5 include adaptive xenon headlights and massage front seats.
