B&B Takes VW Scirocco R up to 362 PS / 357 bhp

Tuning company B&B decided to give the standard Volkswagen Scirocco R three levels of tuning up. The current Scirocco R runs has 195 kW (261 bhp / 265 PS) and it already pulls in 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). And with the skillful hands of the engineers over at B&B, those figures get a bump

At Level 1, the ECU and the electronic injection get optimized. With this, power and torque increased to 228 kW (306 bhp / 310 PS) and 410 Nm at 1,900 rpm respectively. A Vmax of 275 km/h (171 mph) is recorded.

The next-generation Volkswagen Beetle is reportedly to make an appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Shoe in November. Although these reports have not yet been confirmed, many are anxious to see if the car will truly get a refreshed look and offer more inspired engine options. A new tuning package for the Volkswagen’s Golf R has been introduced by B&B Automobiltecknik.

The package is available in three different configurations so that the Golf R can be revised to produce 310, 324 and 362 PS. The range-topping model features a larger turbocharger, a sports exhaust system with a larger downpipe and a racing catalyst, revised engine electrics, a new air intake, an optimized intercooler, and a Slim-line oil cooler.  Geared with these modifications, the 362 PS Golf R can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds before hitting its top speed of almost more than 280 km/h (174 mph).

A five-seater Passat CC has been planned to be introduced by Volkswagen. The originally four-seater will now offer an optional rear bench due to the consumer demand.

The new offering from Volkswagen is set to give the Passat CC even greater everyday utility by adding a seating position.

The optional rear bench will be priced from €100 and will feature three head restraints, a center three-point seat belt, and an asymmetrically split folding backrest.

The Passat CC is available with a number of engines, including the 2.0 liter TSI with 200 horsepower, a 3.6 liter V6 FSI and a 2.0 liter TDI with 140 horsepower.

An aero kit from Hong Kong tuners RevZport for the VW Golf VI GTi RZR has been recently released. RevZport said that the kit will give the car modifications without compromising its overall appeal.

RevZport modifies the façade of the VW Golf VI GTi RZR by adding a new front bumper, adjustable splitter, and LED lighting. A new rear bumper, with adjustable diffuser meanwhile has been integrated at the rear. So are the carbon mirror caps and the carbon rear spoiler. RevZport used carbon fiber and Pultruded Fiber Reinforced Plastic to help stave off weight.

Rear LED lights are now optionally available for the Golf VI for €350, but will come as standard on the Golf GTD, Golf GTI and Golf R.

Volkswagen makes use of 48 light emitting diodes to create the four curve-and-dot shapes at the back of the Golf. The lights are covered with smoked lens to give out a very recognizable look without blinding the tailing drivers. The LED lights light up 0.2 seconds faster than normal incandescent lights.

The Volkswagen Polo was named as 2010 European Car of the Year, beating out seven others that were German-, French-, Czech-, Japanese- and American-made.

So what was the Volkswagen Polo’s advantage? The president of jury, Hakan Matson, had this to say, “It was the Polo’s comprehensive safety equipment and its advanced range of engines that impressed us the most. On the Polo BlueMotion Volkswagen was also able to add a very fuel-efficient yet affordable car to its car programme. ”

The VW Golf has been updated with Caractere’s new body kit for the sixth-generation model: Golf MkVI.

The Belgian automotive design company, who exclusively designs for Volkswagen Audi Group, is fully certified by Germany’s TUV safety assurance board and designs and ease of product integration onto the vehicle.

Caractere gives the MkVI a more outlandish repackaging of the exterior with the addition of a more defined front end in both form and finish, a new mesh lower grille and framed fog lights. Dual chrome exhausts has been placed in the rear. The new mesh side skirt matches with a five twin-spoke alloy wheel design, and the “sport” or “classic” roof spoiler.

Volkswagen which recently bought Porsche has now been reported to take an approximately 10 percent stake in Suzuki by the end of 2009.

Suzuki has earlier denied these speculations but according to Germany’s Automobilwoche quotes an unnamed Suzuki executive as saying, “We expect that there will be a basic agreement this year.”

“For Suzuki and VWYour browser may not support display of this image. this connection would be a win-win situation. Suzuki would have access to a variety of VW’s technology, while Volkswagen would have a solid supporting leg in India and Southeast Asia,” the high-ranking employee told the publication.

Volkswagen Golf R Finally Unveiled at Frankfurt

At the recently held Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has finally revealed the much awaited Golf R. The Golf R is a successor to the R32 variant of the previous-generation Golf. The new Golf R is now powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder, and promises to be as good as or even better than the R32.

The new car now has a lighter 2.0-liter turbocharged unit delivering 270 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Sending power to all four wheels, the Golf R accelerates from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds when equipped with a manual transmission, with Volkswagen’s optional DSG gearbox dropping that time to 5.5 seconds.

Days ahead of their official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswages has unveiled it next generation of super clean diesel BlueMotion variant of the Polo, Golf and Passat. According to VW all three cars will be in production later this year.

Claiming 85.6 mpg (73 mpg U.S.), the Polo can go for 840 miles on a single tank fuel and will only release 87 g/km of CO2. The Polo will be powered by a 72 horsepower .2-liter common-rail diesel three-cylinder engine. VW has given the Polo a five speed manual with regenerative braking to make it one of the most efficient cars on the market.
