2011 Chevrolet Spark

The North American version of the next generation Chevrolet Spark has been launched at the NA International Auto Show in Detroit. The five-door hatchback Spark will be placed below the amended Aveo as a 2011 model.

The Spark takes on much of the Chevrolet Beat concept car’s styling but also adds on its own character with enlarged headlights, added door handles, less extreme surface development and exotic production wheels.

The Spark will be sold basically unchanged around the world, carrying 1.0 and 1.2 liter 16-valve four-cylinder double overhead camshaft gasoline engines. However, safety equipment—such as the driver and passenger front air bags, front side bags, roof rail head curtain airbags, antilock brakes and stability control—will vary depending on global markets.

As the European Spark already debuted in Europe last year at the Geneva Motor Show, it will be first to be available there later this year, with the other global markets to follow.
