The Ferrari 599XX is a ridiculously powerful supercar that does not even make mention of any hybrid technology. Despite the Italian car manufacturer confirmation that the Ferrari 599XX is indeed a track car producing 700 horsepower there are still rumors that the car’s development is geared towards a road-going version of the 599XX which comes with the kinetic energy recovery system being used by the Ferrari Formula 1 racing cars.
Hybrid or not, the Ferrari 599XX is expected to be a recipient of Ferrari’s bid to improve the car’s efficiency through the use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials. The Ferrari 599XX prototype already makes extensive use of this composite material for its brake pads, engine intake plenums and outer body panels.
The Ferrari 599XX also sports the new “Actiflow” adjustable system which is considered a big factor in the car’s efficiency and performance since it can vary drag and downforce. One thing understandable with the manufacturer supposedly limiting the Ferrari 599XX to a track version is the fact that track cars need not bow to the regulations and laws faced by road cars and racing cars.
