Fiat Punto

If you ever speak the words Evo in front of car enthusiasts most of them will automatically think of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions Series. And they have every right to think so, because Mitsubishi has been using the Evo name for years.

But what you do not expect is the word Evo used for a Fiat Punto. Yes, the new Fiat Punto Evo was revealed ahead of the car’s Frankfurt Motor Show debut next month. Dubbed as the evolution of the Grand Punto, the new Evo promises a lot of style and a lot of fun for its users.

The Punto Evo will come in different varieties of engines, including a 1.3L Multijet diesel and a 1.4L gas engine. The 1.4L gas engine comes with Fiat’s Fuel Saving MultiAir Technology. Punto Evo buyers will also be given the option of a new dual-fuel gas and methane engine. The Evo also comes standard with Stop and Start technology.

The Evo will also sport a lot of safety features including seven air bags, including a driver’s knee air bag. Other safety equipment includes a Hill-Holder system, adaptive fog lights, ABS, Electronic Brake force Distribution and ESP.

After its debut on Frankfurt the Fiat Punto Evo will hit the European market in the second half of October.
