Infiniti has already released the pricing details for its 2011 M sedan ahead of the vehicle’s scheduled start of sales on March 18.
The six-cylinder M37 will start at $46,250, while adding all-wheel-drive will cost an additional $2150. The range topping V8 M56 starts at $57,550 for a rear-wheel-drive version or $60,050 for the all-wheel-drive. According to Infiniti, they will begin marketing the car during the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament.
The M56 sports a 5.6 liter direct injection V8 that spews out 420 horsepower and 417 ft-lb of torque. Meanwhile the M37 wills 330 horsepower and 270 ft-lb of torque with its 3.7 liter V6 motor. Despite the enhanced performance from the new engine lineup, fuel consumption will be reduced, according to the automaker. Infiniti has also confirmed that it will add a hybrid six-cylinder variant to the lineup in the near future, but they still have yet to finalize its drivetrain. The hybrid will go on sale in early 2011, a year after the regular models.
The 2011 M sedans will sport a new look with a low front end and deeply sculpted fenders inspired by the Infiniti Essence concept car. It will also feature better interior materials, an advanced climate control system, superior audio, and a number of new technologies—including a system designed to help alert the driver if another vehicle is detected in an adjacent lane during an intended lane change.
