Infiniti will introduce their first diesel engine in its Infiniti EX, Infiniti FX, and Infiniti M line. All the models will be available only for European markets for now.
Named the V9X, the 3.0-liter turbocharged common rail engine produces 235 horsepower (175 kW / 238 PS) and up to 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. The aluminum four-cylinder mill commands the Infiniti EX30d to a hundred kilometers per hour in 7.9 seconds. The FX30d meanwhile can sprints to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.
With its diesel powerhouse, the EX swallows up 8.4 liters of fuel per 100km, getting roughly 34.6 mpg. On the other hand, the FX uses 9.0 liters of fuel, for 31.4 mpg. The EX30d and FX30d CO2 emissions are recorded at 224 grams and 240 grams per kilometer, respectively.
The Infiniti M30d is expected to be available when the M-Line is released later this year. The diesel versions of the EX and FX should be available shortly.
