Lamborghini Produces 4,000th Murcielago - Arrives in China

The 4000th Lamborghini Murcielago has just rolled off the assembly line in the automakers’ Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy plant.

The Murcielago SuperVeloce LP 670-4 carrying series number 4,000 is a lightweight version of the Murcielago LP 640 on which it is based. The car dons an orange “Arancione Atlas” exterior and an Alcantara interior with black sports seats. Under the hood of the is a 6.5-liter V12 engine with 670 PS (493 kW / 661 hp) and 660 Nm (487 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 342 km/h (212 mph).

According to Lamborghini President Stephen Winkelman, “The enthusiasm our products incite makes us proud and confirms that the company’s product strategy and model range are a winning combination, producing exceptionally desirable super sports cars.”

This SuperVeloce will be delivered to Lamborghini’s showroom in Hangzhou, China. The country has become a strategically important market for Lamborghini’s super sports cars. The Italian car manufacturer has a sales affiliate in China as well as seven dealers who have recorded an exponential increase in sales, with the Pacific-Asian area responsible for a quarter of all Lamborghini cars produced.
