With the recent confirmation that Land Rover is going ahead with the production version of the LRX, the British car maker has also announced that it has stopped its plans for a seven-passenger version of its LR2 SUV. Plans for a seven-passenger version of the LR2 broke out a year ago.
The seven seater SUV was being developed under the name L486, but the entire project was put on hold in order for Land Rover to concentrate on other projects like the LRX small crossover utility vehicle.
The sever seater is basically a long wheelbase version of the LR2, if everything went according to plan, the sever seater will be released as early as next year. It remains unclear if the project will ever get back on track, but Land Rover hasn’t officially cancelled the program.
The LRX is expected to be on sale early 2011.
