Oneness between the driver and his car is perfectly summarized in the Japanese phrase “Jinba-Ittai”. This is the same motto that Mazda seeks to achieve with its cars the latest of which is the 2009 Mazda MX-5. The MX-5, which has a price tag of $21,750, may not be as stylishly powerful as the roadster twins of General Motors but it remains unequaled in terms of providing overall driving enjoyment.
Aside from the low base price the 2009 Mazda MX-5 has the huge fun factor that manages to attract the crowd. This year’s model has undergone a mild facelift which is evident with the new headlights, taillights and more aggressive grille. The base audio system has been outfitted with two more speakers while the Grand Touring version has been given an automatic climate control. And woe and behold! No more special edition for this year.
The 2009 Mazda MX-5 will be available in four trims starting with the SV and then the Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. The SV comes with a black vinyl convertible top, six-speaker audio system with a CD/MP3 player, 16-inch alloy wheels, power windows and mirrors and a height-adjustable driver seat.
