Michael Schumacher ends all rumors of his return in F1 with his contract signing to Mercedes Grand Prix. The contract will bind Schumacher as Nico Rosberg’s teammate for 2010.
This is the second time that Schumacher strived to make a comeback at the F1 grid. Last year, he already had agreed to replace Felipe Massa for Scuderia Ferrari but was prevented by a neck injury. Now, he confidently joins Mercedes.
“Mercedes Grand Prix Petronas represents a new challenge for me both in a sporting and a personal context,” Schumacher stated. “It is a new chapter in my racing career and I am really looking forward to working with my old friend Ross Brawn and my companions from my days with the Mercedes Junior Programme.”
Schumacher will purportedly be earning up to 7 million euros and will attempt to add more victories to his impressive career that includes 7 drivers’ world championships, 91 victories and 68 pole positions.
