Way ahead of its launch, the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu has been leaked. An image of the said vehicle was leaked from the United States patent office. The Malibu will essentially be all-new for the 2012 model year, riding on a version of General Motors’ Epsilon II architecture.

The 2012 Malibu will likely to retain many of the design patterns of the current car but with a fresher look. The front headlights appear to have a jeweled look, not unlike the treatment seen on the 2011 Buick Regal. Chevrolet’s signature cross-bar grille, however, remains front and center. 2010 Toyota Rukus Teased

Japanese automaker Toyota is planning to debut the Rukus in Australia later this year.

The Rukus is based on the Scion xB and will also be known as the Toyota bB and Toyota Corolla Rumion in Japan. It is described as an urban utility vehicle with head-turning styling. It will most probably feature a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower (118 kW / 160 PS) and 162 lb-ft (219 Nm) of torque.

Automotive designer Eduard Gray has released some illustrations of his ideas for the first car to come from the Saab purchase of Spyker. Gray, who is based near Saab headquarters in Trollhättan, Sweden, believes that his renderings could land him a job with the Saab Design Studio Team.

”The union of Saab and Spyker presents a unique opportunity to create a design that takes the best of each brand and distills their qualities into a single product,” he said.  Gray, who is Dutch and English, points out that a truly unique car can be assembled with the low-slung mid-engine Spyker supercar chassis and the design language at Saab.

Suzuki’s Kizashi will be getting an upgrade and as a way of celebrating, it will appear at this month’s New York Auto Show.

Although details are still limited, Suzuki has disclosed that they will have “more exciting Kizashi product news to share” at the 2010 New York Auto Show. Suzuki unveiled the Concept Kizashi3 at the 2008 New York Auto Show.

An Audi R8 V10 Spyder literally spit flames while being driven by DTM champion Mattias Ekstrom who has tested the coupe version a number of times before.

Vath is releasing a new package called the V58. The package is based on the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG, but boasts it has more punch than the latter.

Vath’s V58 is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 upgraded to a 5.8-litre displacement and strapped with a compressor. It takes maximum thrust from the factory 265 kW (355 bhp / 360 PS) and 510Nm up to a huge 416 kW (557 bhp / 565 PS) and 770Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. It also has a top speed of 310km/h (193 mph).

Lotus announced at the Geneva Motor Show that all eight special edition ‘Naomi for Haiti’ Evoras have raised over 1.4 million Euros at auction.

As part of collaboration with Naomi Campbell and the White Ribbon Alliance’s Fashion for Relief campaign, Lotus has designed and donated eight bespoke charity cars to help raise funds for Haiti which was struck with an earthquake on 12th of January.

Designed by Donato Coco, with input from supermodel Naomi Campbell, the Evoras were auctioned at the Fashion for Relief charity event. All proceeds will be donated to the White Ribbon Alliance, an organization that will be assisting in rebuilding the healthcare system in Haiti.

Vorsteiner has just released a line of aero enhancements for the BMW 7 Series short wheelbase and long wheelbase. Called the BMW VR-7 Sportiv Aero Package, it covers aerodynamic components that enhance the car’s looks to give it a more aggressive yet elegant appearance.

The front end features a VR-7 carbon fiber add-on front spoiler, a carbon fiber add-on rear spoiler and a rear diffuser. The front spoiler gives more downforce and stability in handling. The suspension was also lowered by 48mm (1.9 inches).

Chevrolet launches the 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon limited edition. The new car is designed to further incorporate technology developed through racing, while also celebrating the 50th anniversary of Corvette’s first race in the 24 Hours of LeMans.

Renault has just signed up General Motors designer Anthony Lo as Vice President of Exterior Design of the French automaker. The move is part of Renault’s continuing efforts in revitalizing its design department. Lo, whose best-known design is the Saab Aero X show car, will work under former Mazda designer Laurens van der Acker at Renault.

Lo held the position of Director of Advanced Design at GM. As such, he worked primarily on the automaker’s European operations. The Saab Aero X is considered his crown achievement with the General. Lexus has just announced pricing for its limited edition IS 350C F-Sport Special Edition. Starting at $57,500, plus a $875 destination fee, all 100 limited units of the IS 350C F-Sport Special Edition will arrive in dealers later this month.

Although more an appearance package, the F-Sport Special Edition does add a bit suspension to the convertible. One-off 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires and Bilstein shock absorbers to increase grip and firm up the ride. Meanwhile, the suspension is lowered about one inch and adds thicker front and rear swaybars, while Lexus has upgraded the front and rear brakes to a carbon ceramic setup.

To further enhance the sexiness of the sportscar, Edo geared up the Aston Martin DBS with revised ECU software. A new exhaust system has also been installed, as well as special catalytic converters, and high flow air filters.
