Peugeot i0n

Peugeot has recently revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show the result of its partnership with Mitsubishi. Peugeot officially took the wraps off its forthcoming mass-market electric vehicle. The electric car will be called the i0n, which was based on Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV.

The car is just 3.48 meters in length so it is perfect for the small streets of Europe. And with a turning radius of just 4.5 meters, that means the i0n will be able to get out of any tight spot.

The i0n is powered by an electric motor churning out 64 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, giving the EV a top speed of 80 mph. The power comes from a lithium-ion battery pack that enables the i0n to do an 80 mile range.

The ion will also have a safety feature similar to General Motors’ OnStar. If the car gets into an accident, Peugeot’s “localized communication unit” will be able to alert local authorities.

There is no news on the exact price of the i0n will be but it will be available for European fleet and retail sales at the end of next year.
